University students residing at the Souissi university residence in Rabat have submitted a list of demands to the administration, calling for improvements in services and living conditions.
According to the students’ demands, residents are seeking better quality meals at the campus restaurant, with regular monitoring of food, greater variety and compliance with health standards.
Students also called for the reopening of the main entrance to the residence instead of side gates, citing safety, organization and respect for student dignity.
The demands include equipping the reading room with sufficient chairs and tables, organizing the space to ensure quiet study conditions, and updating the residence library by adding new academic references and improving the loan system.
Students further urged tighter oversight of products sold at the campus cafeteria, pricing aligned with students’ purchasing power, and the availability of a properly equipped maintenance team to address electrical and carpentry issues in rooms and wings.
Discussions between students and the administration have continued since the start of the academic year, with residents previously holding protests inside the campus to call for dialogue.
Students said the residence hosts a large number of students from across Morocco and other African countries, underscoring the need for improved communication.
