China’s Sunrise Group launched its EUWEN TEXTILES subsidiary in Fez on Wednesday, investing approximately USD 152.6 million (MAD 1.4 billion).
The plant will operate an integrated production chain spanning yarn and fabric supply, weaving, dyeing, textile printing and ready-to-wear garment manufacturing.
The project was inaugurated in the Ben Souda industrial zone by Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidane, alongside the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting large-scale industrial investments.
Poised to create around 3,000 direct jobs, the project will help strengthen the region’s economic attractiveness and strengthen its role in the momentum of national reindustrialization.
This will help reduce imports, optimize logistics costs, shorten production lead times, and strengthen the ability of Moroccan companies to respond directly to international orders without intermediaries.
This structuring project also represents a key lever for enhancing the competitiveness of Morocco’s textile sector, establishing the Fez-Meknes region as a leading regional industrial hub, and contributing to the creation of sustainable jobs in support of economic and territorial development.
On March 20, 2025, an investment agreement related to this project was signed in Rabat under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch. The document reflects the deep strategic partnership between Morocco and China, under the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
