Moroccan medical groups condemn assault on Casablanca doctor
Thursday 11 December 2025 - 15:15

Two major professional bodies representing private-sector physicians condemned what they described as a violent assault on a doctor inside a Casablanca clinic, calling it a “criminal act that endangers health workers and undermines the quality of care.”

In a joint statement, the Coordination of General Practitioners in the Private Sector and the National Alliance of Liberal Doctors urged authorities to arrest the assailant, open an impartial investigation and apply legal procedures without delay.

The organizations said they were following the case with “deep concern,” noting that the incident reflects a rise in physical and verbal violence in medical settings.

They criticized the fact that the attacker “remains at large,” arguing that the absence of an immediate legal response leaves health professionals exposed to further risk.

The groups expressed full solidarity with the assaulted doctor and all medical staff facing daily threats while on duty. They called for stronger security measures inside clinics and health facilities, as well as legal support to ensure that aggressors do not escape accountability.

The statement emphasized that protecting health workers is a collective responsibility, adding that “the dignity of doctors, nurses, technicians and all health professionals is a red line.”
