Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the final results of its anti-dumping investigation into imports of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from Egypt, confirming significant dumping and harm to the domestic industry.
The ministry said the investigation found a causal link between the surge in imports and serious damage to local producers, including lost market share, declining profitability, and downward pressure on domestic prices.
As a result, Morocco plans to implement final anti-dumping duties on Egyptian PVC imports. The measure applies a tariff of 74.87% to products from Egyptian Petrochemicals Company (EPC), which cooperated with the investigation. Other non-cooperating Egyptian exporters will face a higher duty of 92.19%.
The decision follows a consultation by the Import Monitoring Committee on Nov. 21, 2025, and comes after a temporary anti-dumping duty was applied starting June 6, 2025. The investigation into Egyptian PVC imports was initiated on Nov. 27, 2024.
The ministry emphasized that the duties aim to protect the national PVC industry from unfair foreign competition while maintaining a fair trade environment.
