Authorities in Nouaceur province continued on Monday the demolition of a large hospitality complex known locally as the “Bouskoura Kremlin,” built on agricultural land outside Casablanca, according to local officials cited by Hespress.
Demolition crews were deployed early Monday to dismantle the structure after provincial authorities concluded the building violated land-use regulations that prohibit tourism facilities on agricultural plots. The move follows public statements by the owner’s legal representative disputing the legality of the action.
Officials told Hespress the owner had originally obtained a permit for a small rural facility combining equestrian activities and farm-stay lodging, but construction later expanded into a hotel and wedding complex valued at roughly 160 million dirhams. Authorities said the owner failed to provide evidence justifying the expansion.
The province has intensified demolition operations targeting unauthorized construction across rural communes. Earlier this month, authorities also demolished warehouses belonging to the former head of the Ouled Azzouz commune.
