Morocco’s direct housing subsidy program has benefited over 71,000 households, with more than half of recipients under 40, according to Housing Minister Fatima Zahra Mansouri, who said the scheme continues to deliver “important social and economic results.”
Speaking before Parliament, Mansouri reported that monthly beneficiaries rose from 2,400 in 2024 to 3,600 in 2025, adding that women account for 47 percent of recipients and Moroccans abroad for 24 percent. Most applicants received the 70,000-dirham grant, while 37 percent obtained 100,000 dirhams.
The program, designed to stimulate homeownership and support construction, has also boosted cement sales by 12.5 percent, housing loans by 3 percent, and construction jobs by 74,000, Mansouri said. Small enterprises now represent over 80 percent of contributors to the sector.
The minister also detailed upcoming rural planning initiatives, including 24 emerging rural centers and legal reforms to simplify building permits and urban planning laws, aiming to foster “balanced territorial development and greater rural stability.”
