The 7th edition of the FIFCO World Corporate Champions Cup, held for the first time in Africa at the Maracana Sports Complex in Fes, wraps up on Sunday after more than 50 matches have been played.
Running from October 23 to 26, the tournament, organized by Smart Sport Consulting in partnership with the International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO), brought together over 15 companies from around the world, with Morocco making an impressive run to the finals through its three participating teams.
Held in Fes, the 2025 edition wasn’t just a chance for teams to connect and discover new cultures and styles of play, but also to explore investment opportunities in Morocco.
“The participating companies came to Morocco with their teams and leaders, giving them a chance to discover the country, experience its hospitality, and explore potential investment opportunities,” said Otmane Benhlima, President of the Local Organizing Committee of the FIFCO World Corporate Champions Cup, to Hespress English.
He highlighted that the tournament brought together participants from across the globe, fostered new friendships, and showcased a remarkable spirit of sportsmanship and high-level football.
Being held for the first time on African soil, Benhlima said the final of the FIFCO World Corporate Champions Cup marked the end of a successful tournament, fostering healthy competition, friendship, and cultural exchange among players, while also benefiting tourism and the local economy, including hotels, restaurants, and transport services.
President of the International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO), Albert Zbily, emphasized that the 2025 edition held in Morocco was one of the better editions of the FIFCO World Corporate Champions Cup.
“If I had to compare it, this is definitely one of the better ones,” he said.
Zbily noted the charm of the tournament comes from each country bringing its own culture, and that coming to Morocco to experience and share the local culture was a wonderful opportunity for many participants visiting for the first time.
The president said the tournament’s mission has been fully accomplished in Morocco.
He emphasized that “it’s about teamwork, physical activity, and connecting with others, with participants from different countries coming together, talking, and having fun, reflecting the core values of FIFCO.”
Zbily hopes for another edition to be held in Morocco, especially since the local host and organizers had put a great deal of effort into ensuring the games ran smoothly.
The competition featured both 25+ and 35+ categories, with two matches played simultaneously over three days and referees from countries including Morocco, Tunisia, France, the UK, and Portugal officiating.
