Morocco’s Presidency of the Public Prosecution, in partnership with UNICEF, has released a detailed guide outlining standard procedures for assisting migrant children, aimed at unifying protection measures and ensuring consistent care nationwide.
Presented in Rabat last week, the guide seeks to guarantee migrant children’s access to education, healthcare, social protection and justice, in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Morocco ratified in 1993. It provides measurable indicators to coordinate the work of prosecutors, judges, police officers, and social workers.
The framework also emphasizes the protection of vulnerable minors — including unaccompanied children and victims of trafficking — throughout all migration stages, from arrival to integration or repatriation.
Officials said the initiative strengthens Morocco’s implementation of international child protection standards under its national strategies on childhood protection and migration.
