The Moroccan community in Belgium represents a vital and dynamic component of the bilateral partnership between the two countries, said, Thursday in Brussels, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prévot, Bourita emphasized that Moroccans living in Belgium play a central role in strengthening human, economic, and cultural ties between Rabat and Brussels.
“The Moroccan community in Belgium is a shared heritage that we should collectively protect from any external instrumentalization,” he stressed, highlighting its significant contribution to Belgian society across various fields.
In this regard, the Minister commended the remarkable and exemplary contribution of Moroccans living in Belgium to the country’s economic, social, and cultural dynamism.
Many Moroccans living in Belgium excel in the fields of entrepreneurship, research, the arts, and sports, while remaining strongly attached to their roots and their homeland.
This community embodies the success of integration in diversity and represents a privileged link between Moroccan and Belgian societies at a time when both countries are working to build an exemplary model of cooperation on migration based on shared responsibility, solidarity, and mutual respect.
