The Italian Consulate General in Casablanca has issued a statement regarding the procedures for obtaining an Italian visa, warning citizens against intermediaries who make false promises of employment contracts or appointments in exchange for money.
In a press release, the consulate affirmed that the only company authorized to receive visa applications is VFS Global, and that registration must be done exclusively through its official website.
The same document clarified that appointments are available for family reunification and work contracts with “nulla osta” during the month of October, and that more than 16,000 people have had their files verified and can book their appointments.
The consulate also revealed that more than 20,000 permits (Nulla Osta work contracts) had been found to be forged, stressing that document forgery is a crime punishable under both Moroccan and Italian law.
The same source indicated that all work visa applications are still being verified by the Italian central authorities due to the large number of forged documents, calling on citizens to check their email and not to rely on any unofficial sources.
The statement concluded with the consulate announcing the publication of lists of visa applicants who have not yet received their passports, confirming that they can go to the consulate every Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to receive them.
