Hundreds of young Moroccans rallied outside Parliament in Rabat on Friday for the seventh straight day of protests, demanding reforms to the country’s health and education systems and tougher measures to fight corruption.

The demonstrations also took place in major cities including Casablanca, Tangier, Agadir, Marrakech and Fez. Protesters wore black shirts in mourning for three people killed and dozens injured during unrest earlier this week in the town of Lqliâa, south of Agadir.

Chanting slogans such as “Freedom, dignity, social justice” and “If you want this to end, build humane hospitals,” demonstrators called for the resignation of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch’s government. Many carried placards denouncing inequality and corruption.

Unlike violent clashes that marked some earlier protests, Friday’s marches remained largely peaceful, with no police intervention reported in Rabat. Organizers said demonstrations would continue daily from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., urging participants to avoid vandalism and remain disciplined.

“Our first demand is to fight corruption and achieve social justice, along with serious reforms in health and education,” one protester told Hespress AR. “This moment is crucial for our country to move forward.”

A young woman added that the movement was also calling for jobs, justice for those injured and killed during the unrest, and the release of detainees.

The protests continue despite the government’s recent calls for dialogue. Many demonstrators expressed skepticism, saying officials waited too long to respond and are part of the problems they are seeking to solve.
