Morocco’s classified tourist accommodation facilities recorded more than 17.13 million overnight stays by the end of July 2025, representing a 12 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from the Tourism Observatory.

The growth reflects a 6 percent rise in domestic tourism and a stronger 14 percent increase in international visits, confirming the sector’s resilience and diversification.

Major urban and leisure destinations drove the upward trend, with Tangier registering a 21 percent gain, Casablanca 18 percent, Fes 15 percent, Essaouira 11 percent, Agadir 9 percent, Al Haouz 6 percent, and Marrakech 5 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

Foreign exchange revenues from non-resident tourists reached 67.14 billion dirhams in the first seven months of the year, up 13 percent, while border arrivals rose 16 percent to 11.58 million.
