A coalition of Moroccan human rights organizations has called on the government to take urgent action to evacuate Moroccan citizens trapped in Gaza amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
In an open letter to Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Coalition of Human Rights Bodies, made up of 20 associations and national organizations, said it received an emergency appeal from the Association of Moroccans in Gaza.
The appeal reported that Moroccan nationals, particularly women, children and the elderly, are stranded in the enclave under dire conditions, facing the constant threat of death, displacement, hunger and disease.
“The Moroccan state must assume its responsibility to protect its citizens from imminent dangers and move quickly to provide relief and assistance,” the coalition said, urging the Foreign Ministry to facilitate the evacuation of all Moroccans wishing to return home.
The letter noted that foreign evacuations from Gaza are currently being conducted through the Kerem Shalom crossing with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and foreign embassies. Moroccan nationals, the group said, are appealing to be included on evacuation lists and transferred via Amman to Morocco, as other countries have arranged for their citizens.
The coalition stressed that coordination between the Foreign Ministry, the Association of Moroccans in Gaza, and international humanitarian organizations such as the Red Cross would help speed relief efforts.
Moroccans stranded in Gaza have previously issued direct pleas to King Mohammed VI, asking for urgent intervention to secure their evacuation, according to earlier accounts shared with local media.
