The primary court sentenced a Facebook user, identified as A.S., to two years in prison, while a local activist, M.S., received six months and a municipal councilor, M.D., three months.
Each was also fined 500 dirhams.
The case originated earlier in September, when a complaint against the councilor in the Ennakhil district alleged contacts with outside actors.
Police investigators pursued the matter, detaining him on suspicion of espionage before extending the probe to two alleged accomplices.
Prosecutors ordered all three held in pretrial detention, a step that culminated in Friday’s convictions.
For observers, the verdict highlights how Moroccan courts are treating online activity and political connections as arenas where questions of loyalty, security, and dissent now intersect.
