With the Ballon d’Or ceremony set for September 22 in Paris, Kylian Mbappé weighed in on the chances of his former PSG teammates and close friends Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi, both shortlisted for football’s top individual honor.

This year’s award is expected to be contested by three frontrunners: Dembélé, who enjoyed a standout season with PSG; Hakimi, praised for his consistent performances with club and country; and Barcelona’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal, the year’s breakout star.

Speaking to L’Équipe, Mbappé dismissed his own chances. “I won’t win it this year, that’s for sure. It’s hard to choose between two friends like Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembélé. What matters is that their talent is recognized. I’ll be happy for either one,” he said.

The French striker’s comments highlight his strong bond with both players, while also underscoring PSG’s growing prominence in world football should one of its stars lift the trophy.
