Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Early Childhood Education and Sports announced the creation of a central support unit to address potential challenges during the 2025-2026 school year, with a focus on “Riyada” (leadership) schools.
The unit will provide rapid assistance to educational institutions facing difficulties and will be supported by a dedicated phone line for each regional academy, the ministry said. School directors and inspectors can report field issues for timely resolution by the relevant authorities.
Deputy Secretary General of the ministry, Houssein Qaddad, said joint central and regional committees will also conduct field visits to a representative sample of schools and boarding facilities. These visits aim to assess pedagogical quality, logistics, classroom conditions, digital resources, and food and housing arrangements for students.
“The committees will evaluate teaching content alignment with reference frameworks, adherence to instructional techniques, assessment methods, and documentation of lessons, while also examining logistical and material aspects,” Qaddad said in a recent memo to academy directors.
Reports from these inspections will be submitted periodically to central authorities and regional academies, along with recommendations for urgent corrective measures when necessary.
The ministry emphasized that these steps are part of broader preparations for the new school year, aligning with Morocco’s 2022-2026 education roadmap.
