Agadir police have launched an investigation after a foreign-registered SUV was spotted driving across the sandy beach in Agadir, raising public safety concerns among beachgoers.

Photos of the incident circulated on social media on Tuesday, showing the vehicle moving through the sand, with users claiming it had entered the beach illegally and endangered the safety of vacationers.

Local authorities confirmed that the driver, a foreign national, was stopped shortly after driving onto the beach by police and other public security forces patrolling the area. According to the initial findings, the driver claimed he was unaware of Moroccan laws that prohibit vehicles from accessing the beach.

The man is now under judicial investigation, supervised by the public prosecutor’s office. Authorities are working to determine the full circumstances of the incident and whether any legal violations were committed.
