Morocco’s foreign currency reserves rose by 10% year-on-year to $40.2 billion (402 billion dirhams) as of June 26, head of government Aziz Akhannouch announced Tuesday during a parliamentary session.

The reserves now cover over five months of imports of goods and services, he said, citing official data from Morocco’s state news agency.

Akhannouch also reported that inflation had been brought under control, falling below 1% by the end of 2024, down sharply from 6.6% in 2022 and 6.1% in 2023.

On the labor front, the national unemployment rate declined by 0.4 percentage points, with 351,000 jobs created in non-agricultural sectors during the first quarter of 2025, three times higher than the figure recorded in the same period last year.

The 2025 Finance Bill and Morocco’s central bank both forecast 4.6% economic growth this year, with inflation expected to remain moderate at around 2%.
