Police in Taza arrested a 25-year-old man today, Wednesday, suspected of a deadly family attack that occurred yesterday, Tuesday, in Ribate El Kheir, Sefrou province. The assailant allegedly killed one of his brothers and severely injured three other relatives, including his father, by attacking them with a bladed weapon.
The horrific incident unfolded under mysterious circumstances inside the family home. Local sources reported that the suspect, who showed no apparent signs of mental disorder, attacked several family members. Two of his brothers, one sister, and his father sustained serious stab wounds and injuries. Other family members, including his mother and one brother’s wife, managed to escape the assault.
The suspect’s injured brother tragically died upon arrival at the hospital due to his severe wounds. The remaining victims are currently in intensive care at Fez University Hospital.
Authorities tracked the suspect to the Taza bus station, where he was apprehended shortly after arriving by a passenger transport vehicle, thanks to precise information from a local official in Ribate El Kheir.
The arrested individual has been handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie in Ribate El Kheir and placed in police custody. A judicial investigation, supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office, is underway to uncover all circumstances and motives behind this bloody crime.
