Wydad Casablanca suffered a heavy 4–1 defeat to Italy’s Juventus on Sunday in the second round of Group G at the FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S., complicating their hopes after an earlier loss to Manchester City.
Juventus opened scoring in the 6th minute following a defensive error by Bouteuil, with Yıldız adding a second ten minutes later via a powerful strike from outside the box.
Wydad responded in the 25th minute through Lorch, who lobbed the ball over the Juve keeper to end the first half 2–1.
Despite a strong attacking start to the second half, Wydad conceded a third in the 69th minute as Yıldız scored again after dribbling past the defense.
A late penalty converted by Vlahović in stoppage time sealed the result.
Wydad will play their final group match against Al Ain of the UAE in hopes of salvaging their campaign.
