Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, has dismissed Imane Belmaati from her role as Director General of the National Agency for Employment and Skills Promotion (ANAPEC), just 14 months after her appointment.
According to a government source who spoke to Hespress, the decision stems from delays in executing the agency’s roadmap aimed at boosting job placements and addressing unemployment.
The agency’s weak performance and failure to deliver actionable plans aligned with the government’s employment strategy were key factors behind the move.
Additional concerns cited include insufficient follow-up on recommendations from the Court of Auditors and the Finance Ministry’s inspectorate.
An interim director is expected to be appointed pending the selection of a permanent replacement.
Belmaati had previously served as deputy to former director Noureddine Benkhalil, who was also removed from office.
