Dr. Tayeb El Ouzzani has been dismissed from his role as Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences in Martil, affiliated with Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in Tetouan, less than a year after his appointment.
Sources familiar with the matter told Hespress that the decision was based on a report from the Ministry of Higher Education’s General Inspectorate, which flagged significant administrative and financial mismanagement within the faculty.
The report noted that El Ouzzani had been frequently absent from the institution, especially during examination periods. It also pointed to wider dysfunction, including a lack of sufficient administrative personnel and shortcomings in staff performance, factors that reportedly disrupted the smooth functioning of the college.
Although the decision comes shortly after a public event featuring former Head of government Saad Eddine El Othmani on campus, which drew protests from leftist student groups, the same sources confirmed there was no connection between the dismissal and the political controversy.
