Cement sales in Morocco, a key indicator of construction sector health, rose by 10.3% by the end of April 2025, compared to 3.5% during the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s DEPF.
In April alone, sales surged by 32%, driven by across-the-board growth: distribution (+29.6%), ready-mix concrete (+34%), prefabricated materials (+38%), infrastructure (+45.5%), and building (+23.3%).
This robust performance signals a sustained rebound in construction activity. On the real estate financing side, outstanding property loans grew by 2.7% in Q1 2025, up from 1.2% a year earlier, surpassing 313 billion dirhams for the first time.
This growth is attributed to a 2.2% increase in housing loans and a notable 5.6% rise in loans to property developers. Together, these trends suggest renewed momentum in the construction and real estate sectors amid improved economic conditions and rising demand.
