Cement sales, a key indicator of construction activity, rose 10.6 percent by the end of November 2025, extending their upward trend after an 8.9 percent increase a year earlier, according to Morocco’s Directorate of Financial Studies and Forecasts.
The growth was driven mainly by higher sales of ready mixed concrete, which jumped 26.6 percent, as well as gains in prefabricated construction at 16.6 percent, infrastructure projects at 10.1 percent and building activity at 2 percent. Cement distribution sales also increased by 4.1 percent, the agency said in its latest economic outlook.
Financing for real estate activity also improved. Property related lending rose 3.2 percent during the first ten months of 2025, compared with 2.1 percent a year earlier, exceeding 319.5 billion dirhams.
Outstanding housing loans increased 3.3 percent by the end of October, while credit to property developers grew 4.5 percent over the same period, according to the report.
