FC Barcelona has reportedly identified Moroccan international Eliesse Ben Seghir, who plays for AS Monaco in France, as a potential target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Spanish club considers him one of the most promising rising football talents in Europe.
According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo,” Barcelona has Ben Seghir on their list of summer targets following his strong performances for Monaco.
The report suggests the “promising Atlas Lion” is seen as a suitable option for Barcelona’s left-wing due to his individual skills, dribbling ability, and speed. Barcelona, the Spanish champions, are reportedly looking to expand their attacking options to help rest key players during congested parts of the season.
Ben Seghir has previously stated in media interviews his admiration for FC Barcelona, noting that their style of play appeals to him and suits his own.
Last season, Eliesse Ben Seghir played 44 matches for AS Monaco in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists. His current contract with the French club extends until the summer of 2027.
Ben Seghir has also represented the Moroccan senior national team in 10 matches, scoring 3 goals, according to “Transfermarkt.” He was also part of the Moroccan Olympic team that won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
