The 69th anniversary of Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), celebrated Friday at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in Jadida, was more than a commemorative event — it was a powerful visual affirmation of institutional cohesion and national unity.

Photographs from the celebration depicted a Morocco unified in its institutional and societal fabric, as top security and state officials stood shoulder-to-shoulder in a display of coordination and loyalty under the firm leadership of King Mohammed VI.

Among the prominent figures in attendance were Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and National Surveillance; Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior; Yassine Mansouri, Head of External Intelligence (DGED); Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie; and high-ranking military and judicial officials. Their visible synergy was a clear testament to Morocco’s strong inter-agency collaboration and institutional alignment.

The presence of top international law enforcement and intelligence figures added a global dimension to the event. The head of INTERPOL joined Moroccan officials in the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake — a gesture rich in symbolic significance. Also in attendance were the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, senior Spanish security officials including the head of the National Police and Deputy Director of the Civil Guard, as well as representatives from France, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

These high-profile attendees underscored Morocco’s growing influence and respected standing on the regional and international security stage. The event also served as a response to recent online disinformation campaigns aimed at sowing division within Moroccan institutions.

In what many viewed as a message to detractors and digital provocateurs, the unified appearance of Morocco’s top security, judicial, and military figures sent a clear signal: Moroccan institutions are not only resilient but are working in concert to protect national stability.

The DGSN anniversary became not just a celebration of a founding date, but a declaration of Morocco’s institutional maturity, internal harmony, and enduring commitment to public safety and global cooperation.
