Morocco’s social dialogue is set to resume next week, with Head of government Aziz Akhannouch expected to chair a new round of tripartite meetings on Tuesday.
The talks will bring together the country’s most representative labor unions and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
According to sources who spoke to Hespress, this round follows preliminary discussions held by Akhannouch with union leaders.
It aims to address ongoing social challenges through collaborative efforts, in line with the government’s commitment to institutionalizing social dialogue.
The upcoming talks build on the progress made in April 2024, which resulted in a landmark agreement to boost incomes.
That deal included a net monthly salary increase of 1,000 dirhams for public sector employees and a 10% raise in the legal minimum wage for both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors.
The deal also introduced reforms to the income tax system, effective from January 1, 2025.
