Morocco has been drawn into Group B for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON), alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and Kenya, following the official draw held Sunday in Cairo.
The tournament, set to run from April 27 to May 18 in Egypt, features 12 teams divided into three groups. Group A includes hosts Egypt, Zambia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Tanzania, while Group C comprises defending champions Senegal, the Central African Republic, DR Congo, and Ghana.
The top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, will progress to the quarter-finals. The four semi-finalists will earn qualification to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, scheduled for September 27 to October 19 in Chile.
The draw was re-conducted after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded hosting rights to Egypt on March 27, following Côte d’Ivoire’s withdrawal due to unforeseen circumstances.
Morocco qualified for the tournament by topping the UNAF (North African) qualifiers held in Suez in November.
