Morocco Participates in Spring Session of PACE
Monday 7 April 2025 - 19:52

A significant Moroccan parliamentary delegation is attending the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which opened Monday in Strasbourg.

The Kingdom is represented by around ten parliamentarians from both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, who are expected to take part in the work of the various thematic committees.

Morocco participates in the different sessions of PACE as a Partner for Democracy with the Council of Europe, a status it has held since 2011.

During its winter session, held at the end of last January, PACE adopted a resolution granting the Kingdom several new prerogatives that allow for more inclusive involvement in the work of this prestigious institution.

These prerogatives open new perspectives for strengthened dialogue between Moroccan parliamentarians and their European counterparts, within a framework of sharing experiences and best practices.

The Council of Europe thus acknowledged the Kingdom’s strategic role in the Euro-Mediterranean-African region, particularly in terms of stability, sustainable development, and regional cooperation.

The current session of PACE, running until April 11, is focused on several urgent debates related to the democratic situation on the continent.
