UEFA opened an investigation into Real Madrid stars Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Jr, Antonio Rudiger and Dani Ceballos for alleged “indecent conduct” during their Champions League last 16 win over Atletico Madrid.
The Madrid stars face potential punishment ahead of their quarter-final first leg clash at Arsenal on April 8.
“A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct by Real Madrid CF players,” said the European football governing body in a statement.
Spanish media reports suggested Real Madrid players are being scrutinised by UEFA for the manner of their celebrations after the win.
According to Goal, a key incident under review is a gesture by Antonio Rudiger, who was seen making a throat-slitting motion, allegedly directed at Atletico Madrid supporters.
Meanwhile, videos circulating on social media seem to show Mbappe making a hand gesture towards his groin during the celebrations.
