Authorities in Morocco have arrested a woman suspected of fatally slashing her 9-year-old daughter in their home near Casablanca, sources confirmed on Tuesday.
The Royal Gendarmerie in the Lahraouyine district apprehended the woman after her husband discovered the horrifying scene. According to initial reports, the father found his wife holding a knife with bloodstained hands, raising alarm over what had just transpired.
The couple was reportedly facing family and social issues, though the exact motive behind the tragic incident remains under investigation. Law enforcement officers have taken both parents into custody for questioning to determine their roles and gather further details surrounding the case.
Following the incident, forensic teams were deployed to examine the crime scene and collect evidence. The child’s body has been transferred to the Rahma Forensic Institute for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation, under the supervision of the Casablanca Public Prosecutor’s Office.
