Prince Moulay Rachid chaired, on Friday at the archaeological site of Chellah in Rabat, a gala dinner offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, on the occasion of the 49th Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 28th Lalla Meryem Cup, held under the High Patronage of HM the King on February 03-08.
On his arrival, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, reviewed a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces who made the honors, before being greeted notably by Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor and Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa.
His Royal Highness was also greeted by the President of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, Fayçal Laraichi; the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region and Governor of Rabat Prefecture, Mohamed Yacoubi; the President of the Regional Council, Rachid El Abdi; the President of the Municipal Council, Fatiha El Moudni; the President of the Prefectural Council, Abdelaziz Driouich; and the President of the Youssoufia District, Ibrahim El Joumani.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by the First Vice-President Delegate of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) and Vice-President Delegate of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH), Mostafa Zine; the Second Vice-President of the FRMG and Vice-President of the ATH, Hassan Mansouri; the President of the Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam Club and member of the ATH Board of Directors, Abderrahman Bouftas; the Treasurer General of the ATH, Ali Bensouda; the Financial Advisor to the ATH President, Azzeddine Benmoussa; the General Coordinator of the Hassan II Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup, Michel Besancenay; the Director General of the FRMG and Executive Director of the ATH, Mohamed Iraqi; and the Financial Director of the FRMG and the ATH, Mohamed Naoufel Bensouda.
Subsequently, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid greeted international and national guests, as well as partners.
The gala dinner featured the screening of an institutional film tracing the history of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup.
This film highlighted the key moments of these two prestigious competitions, created in 1971 and 1993, respectively, at the initiative of the late His Majesty King Hassan II, may God have him in His Holy Mercy, as well as the world’s greatest golfers who have left their mark on the history of these high-level sporting events.
