The final section of the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway was officially opened, a 114 km stretch connects the Maâder ring road at the entrance to Tiznit with the city of Guelmim, passing through the Sidi Ifni province.

Although the construction was completed in November 2024, the Tiznit-Guelmim segment remained closed until today to finalize certain installations and signage.

This project is part of a major infrastructure development plan for the Southern Provinces, launched by King Mohammed VI in 2015. The entire Tiznit-Dakhla expressway spans 1,055 km and represents a total investment of 10 billion dirhams.

It consists of three main sections: the first, from Laâyoune to Dakhla (500 km), was completed several years ago at a cost of about 1 billion dirhams.

The second section, linking Laâyoune to Guelmim (436 km), required an investment of around 5 billion dirhams, with the construction of several bridges over major rivers.
