The Ministry of Interior has confirmed the receipt of an official declaration to establish a new political party, “Renewal and Progress,” according to a notice published in the Official Gazette on Nov. 27.
The submission outlines the party’s proposed name, symbol, and central headquarters, along with its draft statutes and program. A total of 418 individual commitments to hold the founding congress within the legal timeframe were also included.
The ministry emphasized that the announcement does not confirm the legality of the party’s initial establishment phase. Compliance with Organic Law No. 29.11 governing political parties must first be verified, it said.
The party’s official website describes its platform as “social liberal with a Moroccan identity,” aiming to forge a “new political path” that engages all segments of society, both within Morocco and among its diaspora.
Advocates for the new party highlight plans to focus on integrated programs addressing justice, education, the economy, and employment while ensuring transparency and accountability across sectors. The party also vows to revitalize political participation by combining youthful energy with experienced leadership.
The initiative includes an international network of coordinators in countries such as France, Italy, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, and Germany, aimed at engaging Moroccan expatriates. Leadership roles for a founding committee head and an internal coordinator have also been designated.
The proposed party now awaits final approval from the Ministry of Interior to move forward with its establishment.
