the Real Madrid and Brazil forward, Vinícius was named FIFA’s “Best” player for 2024 at the annual ceremony in Doha. The 24-year-old’s triumph followed a stellar season in which he helped Real Madrid secure both La Liga and the Champions League titles.
Despite finishing second in the Ballon d’Or race to Spain’s Rodri, Vinícius claimed victory in the FIFA Best awards, earning 48 points, ahead of Rodri (43 points) and his teammate Jude Bellingham (37 points).
This marks the first time a Brazilian has won the award since Ricardo Kaka in 2007. Vinícius succeeds Lionel Messi, who had won the honor in the past two editions, and is the first player to win the award under its current name, “The Best.”
The voting was conducted by national team captains, coaches, journalists, and fans.
