In a historic moment for its tourism industry, Morocco recorded 15.9 million tourist arrivals during the first eleven months of 2024, marking a 20% growth—equivalent to an additional 2.6 million visitors compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
This increase was driven by a strong surge in international tourists, which rose by 23% (1.5 million additional visitors), along with robust growth of 17% among the Moroccan diaspora, contributing an additional 1.1 million arrivals, the ministry stated in a press release.
In November alone, the Kingdom welcomed nearly 1.3 million tourists, reflecting an exceptional growth of 31%, the same source reported.
Quoted in the statement, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, said: “We are experiencing an unprecedented phase in the dynamic history of Morocco’s tourism.”
These unprecedented figures demonstrate the impact of our roadmap and represent significant progress toward our goal of positioning Morocco among the world’s top 15 tourist destinations, she added.
