Moroccan international Elias Ben Seghir, who plays for French club AS Monaco, recently opened up in an interview with the official website of UEFA, sharing his personal goals, his decision to represent the Moroccan national team, and more.

Speaking about his ambitions, the young midfielder revealed his aspirations both at the club and international level. “In the Champions League, my goal is to reach the Round of 16,” Ben Seghir said. “As for Ligue 1, I’m aiming for a place on the podium, but there are still many matches left to play.”

On his decision to choose the Atlas Lions over other national teams, Ben Seghir explained, “I know it was a decision that sparked a lot of debate, but I was ready to make the choice, and I have absolutely no regrets.”

He added, “For me, when you know what you want, you have to go for it. There’s no reason to wait when you have the chance to represent a country that reached the World Cup semi-finals and boasts such big names.”

Ben Seghir expressed immense pride in his decision, saying, “For me, it’s an honor to help my country, and I’m very happy with my choice.”

It’s worth noting that Ben Seghir’s contract with AS Monaco runs until 2027, solidifying his commitment to the club for the foreseeable future.
