The Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into a mass circumcision event in Chefchaouen for children from underprivileged families, in which five children suffered severe complications and infections, posing a threat to the health of their genital organs, Hespress sources revealed.
The five affected children, who participated in the mass circumcision, were transferred to the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tangier for necessary treatment.
The case was brought to light by the Karama Association for Human Rights, which filed a request with the Public Prosecutor to open an investigation into the matter.
The association stated that the circumcision event took place on September 20, involving more than 45 children, and was held at the Mohammed V Hospital in Chefchaouen.
