Billionaire Elon Musk has donated about $75 million to a political action committee set up to support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to documents filed late Tuesday and seen by AFP.
Musk recently attended a rally for the former president, where he said he believed a Trump victory in the Nov. 5 election was “essential to preserving the Constitution and democracy.”
Musk has also repeatedly criticized Trump’s Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, on the X platform.
Trump last month unveiled a plan to appoint Musk to chair a government efficiency commission aimed at cutting wasteful government spending, which Trump has described as costing “trillions” of dollars.
