Digital Transition minister Ghita Mezzour took the stage today at the GITEX Global in Dubai where she presented the national strategy “Digital Morocco 2030.”

This high-profile event, which runs until October 18, featured discussions with decision-makers, experts, and specialists from diverse backgrounds.

In her address,  Mezour showcased the objectives of the new digital strategy and Morocco’s ambitions in digitizing public services, promoting digital inclusion, and advancing the digital economy. T

he minister emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a supportive business environment for developing digital skills through “Merchour” hubs across the kingdom and major companies that benefit from support for hiring talent and infrastructure.

“Visitors to Morocco may be surprised by the significant advancements in digital and modern technology. We need to share our story more widely to inform the world of our achievements.”

She highlighted that youth are central to the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy, aimed at facilitating their access to jobs in the growing digitization sector.

This initiative has led to various inclusive training programs in universities, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, programming, cybersecurity, and medicine.

In an interview with Hespress, Mezour reiterated her focus on the key elements of the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy, particularly the digitization of public services and positioning Morocco as a hub for young talent in modern technologies.

She emphasized that the event offered a valuable opportunity to attract investments and engage global companies interested in partnerships with Moroccan entities, reinforcing the ministry’s commitment to monitoring these companies and their progress.

Additionally, the minister pointed out that digital inclusion is a key priority of the national strategy, ensuring that all Moroccans benefit from digitization. To achieve this goal, access to digital services must be improved, even for those who are illiterate or unfamiliar with technology. This can be accomplished through advancements in artificial intelligence, voice control, and other solutions the ministry has been developing.

The “GITEX Global 2024” exhibition, held under the theme “Global Cooperation to Shape the Future Economy Based on Artificial Intelligence,” commenced on Monday at the Dubai World Trade Center.

It aims to showcase more than 6,500 exhibiting companies, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from over 180 countries.
