GITEX Africa Morocco will bring together around 1,450 exhibitors and more than 400 international investors managing over $350 billion in assets during its fourth edition in Marrakech from April 7 to 9, Digital Transition Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni said on Tuesday.
Speaking in Rabat at the launch event, Seghrouchni said the exhibition had grown beyond a conventional trade fair to become “a real global strategic platform” where public decision makers, investors, entrepreneurs and innovators meet to debate major digital issues.
She said organisers expect more than 50,000 visitors from over 130 countries, with discussions focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, fintech and smart cities. The event, hosted by Morocco, provides “a unique space for dialogue and networking” and is intended to strengthen the kingdom’s position as a regional innovation hub and a committed player in building African digital sovereignty, she said.
Seghrouchni also said the event had already delivered tangible results, citing a Moroccan startup that raised about $15 million after a trajectory that began at GITEX, which she described as proof the forum had become “a real platform for financing, acceleration and international expansion” for local startups.
