The National Airports Office reported that air traffic at Marrakech Menara Airport was not affected by the heavy rainfall that hit the city and its surroundings on Sunday, with approximately 25 millimeters recorded in just 15 minutes.
Although this rainfall exceeded the capacity of drainage systems, it did not have a significant impact on air transport.
The office explained that some leaks occurred in parts of the terminal due to the rain; however, flight operations and arrivals and departures continued normally.
The statement also noted that the rainfall caused flooding in some areas of the city, leading to the diversion of some flights.
An emergency response team was established by the office immediately after the issuance of the warning bulletin, and work teams were mobilized to take the necessary measures to address the situation.
