Morocco has secured the 52nd position in the global brand value rankings, according to the latest report from the Global Innovation Index in collaboration with Brand Finance.
This achievement shows the growing influence of Moroccan brands on the international stage, despite contributing a relatively small portion to the overall global brand value.
The report revealed a substantial surge in the total value of global brands in 2024, reaching a staggering $13 trillion.
While Morocco’s contribution of approximately $2.75 billion accounts for only 0.02% of this figure, it is a notable presence among the top 5,000 brands worldwide.
When considering brand value as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP), Morocco ranks 48th, with brands contributing around 1.75% to the nation’s GDP.
The report also shed light on the global brand value landscape, with Hong Kong and the United States leading the pack.
Hong Kong’s dominance is attributed to companies like AIA and Prudential, while the US continues to reign supreme with tech giants such as Amazon and Google.
Other notable performers include Sweden, renowned for consumer and automotive brands like IKEA and Volvo, and Switzerland, with a strong presence in finance and pharmaceuticals, such as UBS and Roche.
France’s luxury and energy sectors, represented by brands like Chanel and TotalEnergies, have also contributed to the country’s overall brand value.
South Korea, on the other hand, showcases its strength in the automotive and industrial sectors through brands like Kia and LG.
The United States continued to dominate the global brand value landscape in 2024, boasting a brand value of almost $6 trillion. This figure represented 45% of the total global brand value, surpassing the combined value of the next 10 economies.
China, with a brand value of $1.7 trillion, ranked second globally, contributing 13.3% to the total. China’s dominance was highlighted by TikTok/Douyin, which emerged as the country’s most valuable brand.
India, following closely behind in ninth place, had a brand value of $224 billion, representing 1.7% of the global share. India’s Tata Group claimed the top spot among Indian brands. These rankings underscore the growing influence of brands from these emerging economies on the global stage.
In terms of individual brands, Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon maintained their positions as the top four most valuable brands worldwide. Samsung Group from the Republic of Korea made a significant impact, securing the fifth spot.
