Google to pay content creators in local currency in Morocco, Arab countries
Thursday 3 October 2024 - 16:41

Google, the parent company of YouTube, has announced plans to pay content creators in Morocco and other Arab countries in local currency starting in May 2025.

This change will affect users of AdSense, AdSense for YouTube, AdMob, and Ad Manager.

Content creators must have a local bank account to receive payments. The exchange rate used for conversions will be based on the average official rate for the previous month.

Google explained that this move is part of its broader strategy to facilitate payments for content creators worldwide.

The company has already implemented similar changes in several countries, including Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, and the UAE.
