The Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts, and Social Economy has categorically denied rumors surrounding the ‘Forsa’ program, particularly allegations involving mediator Mohamed Benalilou seeking additional funding for Tangier.
This response follows claims that project leaders in Tangier, who met all requirements, experienced funding delays due to untimely contract signings.
In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that funding was allocated based on territorial equity, ensuring all regions received their designated quotas. The government exceeded its initial target, providing support to 21,200 project leaders across two editions of the program, surpassing the goal of 20,000 beneficiaries.
The Ministry further clarified that the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including incubators and financial institutions, offered robust support to project leaders, ensuring compliance with deadlines for contract signings. Additionally, the ‘Forsa’ program fully covered training and incubation costs for participants, equipping them with essential entrepreneurial skills regardless of funding eligibility.
Furthermore, the Ministry noted that 545 candidates had sought assistance through the mediator, with each case reviewed by the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT). For those ineligible for ‘Forsa’, alternative financing options, including the ‘Intilaka’ program in collaboration with banking institutions, have been made available to ensure continued support.
