Moroccan agri-food giant Teralys has acquired Italian agro-industrial group Nutkao in a deal valued at approximately €450 million. The transaction, backed by the sovereign wealth fund Al Mada, has been met with enthusiasm by Nutkao’s founders.

Teralys, a subsidiary of Al Mada, is strengthening its commitment to the European agri-food sector through this acquisition of a leading European player in cocoa and vegetable protein processing. The deal is expected to be finalized following necessary administrative approvals.

Giuseppe Braida, who founded Nutkao in 1982, expressed optimism about the acquisition. “This negotiation gives me a sense of serenity,” he told La Stampa. “I believe there is great potential for long-term investment that will benefit the company’s stability and growth.”

Braida noted that Teralys’ approach differs from traditional investment funds. “I see this as an investment with many positive aspects,” he said. “It’s too early to say for sure, but I’m confident.”
