Tourism receipts in foreign currency reached 59.4 billion dirhams in the first seven months of 2024, said, on Thursday in Rabat, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor.
Ammor, who presented the results of the summer season at the weekly meeting of the Government Council, said that these revenues showed growth of 3.5% compared with the same period a year earlier, an increase of 2 billion dirhams, reported Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing at the end of this meeting.
The Minister noted that tourist arrivals totaled 4.4 million in July and August, up 21% on the same period in 2023.

According to her, this assessment is part of the acceleration of the implementation of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap, launched by the government in March 2023 and focusing in particular on strengthening air links and consolidating marketing efforts, which has enabled air transport capacity to be increased by 30% compared with 2023.
