As part of its preparations for the 2030 World Cup, FIFA will be making its first inspection visit to Morocco and Spain during the last week of September.
This visit, by the technical teams in Morocco and Spain, will be crucial to the evaluation of the tripartite bid file, which will be put to the vote of FIFA’s 211 members at the meeting scheduled for December 11.
FIFA’s technical teams will therefore visit Morocco and Spain at the end of September, for an initial inspection following the submission of the Bid Book for the joint Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid for the 2030 World Cup. This is a crucial step, less than three months before the decisive date of December 11.
FIFA’s technical visits are designed to assess the bids to host the World Cup, and to verify that the candidate countries meet FIFA’s criteria in all organizational areas.
As a reminder, on July 29, FIFA received the tripartite bid from Morocco, Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup, as announced by the international soccer body.
The official bid documents were presented to FIFA President Gianni Infantino by the Presidents of the three candidate Football Associations: Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Football Federation, and Álvaro de Miguel, General Secretary of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, on behalf of President Pedro Rocha.
