The African Development Bank (AfDB) has granted Morocco a €120 million loan to improve governance and strengthen resilience in the face of climate disruption.
According to the AfDB, this loan will support the implementation of reforms aimed at revitalizing the Moroccan economy and bolstering its ability to withstand external shocks, particularly those linked to environmental challenges.
In addition, this financing will help support the regulatory role of the public sector, while maintaining its position as a catalyst for private investment and economic competitiveness. By promoting a sustainable development approach, the program also aims to reduce the volatility of Morocco’s macroeconomic framework in response to external influences.
The AfDB reports that the initiative will support the government’s efforts to improve governance, enhance the performance of the water sector and create an enabling environment for the development of renewable energies.
