The government has defended its handling of a recent parliamentary controversy, denying any procedural irregularities.
In response to the opposition’s walkout from the House of Representatives, government spokesperson Mustapha Baitas emphasized the clarity and simplicity of the process for requesting a plenary session debate.
Baitas addressed the opposition’s concerns regarding the medical and pharmacy students’ crisis, stating that the issue had been thoroughly discussed in parliamentary committees.
He outlined the formal steps required for a parliamentary group to request a plenary session debate, including notification of parliament, the Prime Minister, and the relevant minister.
Regarding the ongoing situation for those affected by the Al Hoceima earthquake, Baitas assured the public that the government is committed to the implementation of the emergency rehousing program.
He highlighted the role of an inter-ministerial committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, in overseeing the project and providing regular updates.
